![]() It will give you a couple of warnings about how the software isn't verified by xp and a bunch of other crap. Click all of the prompts to do your own manual search for the software and direct the wizard to your cd rom drive and click ok. First you have to plug the rio 500 into the pc and when it says 'new hardware found' put your rioport cd into the cd rom, don't let xp search for it by itself because it won't find it. : : Answer: I got it to work and some of the other advice here didn't work for me. : : : Does anyone know how to get the Rio 500 to work on Windows XP? Of course, after that you have to unlock the program in the help menu on the rioport audio manager and get your unlock code and all the usual stuff you did before on earlier versions of windows. : and download the 2MB hardware driver for the 500/600/800 model of rio player. DO NOT BE FRIGHTENED BY THIS!
